Message from our Executive Director and Chairman

Welcome and thank you for visiting our Licata Family Foundation website. We hope that the information you find here will inspire you to join us in supporting charities and scholarships that have a lasting impact on the lives of our neighbors and community.

Our Foundation is a private, 501(c)(3) tax exempt, not-for-profit organization established by my wife, Annette, and I to actively promote and advance philanthropic works. We also wanted to establish a family foundation as a legacy for our children in their pursuit of charitable work and community service.

As a family, we hope to challenge succeeding generations and encourage each other to consider philanthropy as an important part of their lives. LFF seeks to serve as a catalyst for the family to act collectively in philanthropic endeavors and collaboratively with others in our community.

Through our grantmaking, LFF supports 501(c)(3) organizations with proven results, strong leadership and potential for significant, long-term growth and impact in the areas of charity, education, youth programs, religion, medical research and animal welfare. We also award the Licata Family Foundation Scholarship for academic and athletic excellence and commitment to community service, all consistent with our charitable purposes.

Through contributions and investments from our family and from donors to LFF, we invest in organizations across the community who are helping to make the Greater New York area a better place for all people, primarily through our emphasis on child and family development, education, medical research, historical preservation and the arts.

Our work in the community is much more than our grants. We convene, organize, partner and facilitate, all in coordination with our grantmaking, to advance positive and lasting change in our community. Personal involvement and innovation by our Directors, Officers, Junior Board Advisors, Ambassadors, and Benefactors, has been and will be one of the continuing strengths of LFF.

We believe that promoting strategic philanthropy is central to our mission. Individual donors, families, nonprofits, businesses and local and national funders benefit from our Foundation’s deep community expertise, and from our commitment to helping donors become more thoughtful in their philanthropy.
