Our Board Advisors, Sofia and Joseph, met with Eileen Minogue, Executive Director of The Book Fairies, to discuss how our foundation can help foster literacy of the underprivileged children within and outside our community. They also collected and donated many books. The Book Fairies is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that collects reading materials for people in need throughout metropolitan New York. The reading materials foster literacy and academic success, provide a respite from personal struggles, and nurture a love of reading across age groups. Our foundation will continue to work with The Book Fairies charity.

  • Project: ACLAMO Family Center
Our Junior Board Advisor, Sofia, recently participated in a community outreach program with ACLAMO Family Centers through Villanova University. ACLAMO Family Center is a community service organization that provides low-income Latinos and other disadvantaged residents, especially those with limited English and are of migrant status, living in core residential neighborhoods of Norristown and Pottstown, Pennsylvania. She connected with the director of the ACLAMO to ask what she can do to support the program. The director shared that what was most needed was school supplies including backpacks, pencils, folders, art supplies, sneakers, and clothing for the children. Days later Sofia bought and delivered all that was needed. The LFF also made a donation to further support ACLAMO.

  • Project: Sports Equipment

  • COVID-19 Nursing Home Outreach
On April 20th, 2020, LFF, with the guidance and leadership of our Junior Board Advisors, boxes of games and other fun activities were purchased, sanitized, and delivered to nursing homes and assisted living facilities in Florida. These facilities were hit by COVID-19 and the residents were not able to leave or receive guests. Upon us learning of this unfortunate circumstance, we wanted to put some smiles on their faces and let them know how much they are loved.
